Barcelona reportedly are eyeing a new right back as they’re looking to complete Nelson Semedo’s transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Catalan giant are inching closer to announce the sale of Nelson Semedo to Wolves for 40 million Euro. Reports are claiming that both parties have agreed on everything and only official announcement is missing for now.
The Portuguese international was under heavy criticism after Barca’s big 8-2 defeat in Champions League last season. Blaugrana have been trying to seek for buyer since the early part of the transfer window, before Wolves finally making their move.
Despite the criticism he’s been getting, the Premier League side are in need of a new right back, so they do need Semedo. Moreover, Wolves’s strong tie with Portuguese players might give a better environment for supporting the former Benfica player.
Meanwhile, after that sale, according to report from Football Espana, Barcelona now are considering at least three players. Ronald Koeman’s side first option is Ajax’s right back, Sergino Dest who might be available for 20 million Euro.
However, Barca must compete with Bundesliga giant, Bayern Munchen if the Catalan side are really keen on Dest. Koeman will be hoping that his Dutch relation with Ajax could smooth things up for his team.
The second option that Blaugrana are considering is Real Betis’ Emerson which can be bought for just 6 million Euro. That situation can happen because of Barca and Betis’ co-ownership agreement for the Brazilian defender.
As for the third option, reports are claiming that Barcelona will consider Norwich City’s defender, Max Aarons. Apparently the Championship side are only willing to consider an offer in the region of 25 million Euro for Aarons.
In terms of price, Emerton is certainly much cheaper, but it looks like Dest is the main guy that Koeman wants.
